A news update on the radio said that Sid Vicious had died.  I was immediately disconsolate, and then they said “the guitarist for the sex pistols, Vicious…” and that’s when I realized that they weren’t talking about Sid Vicious the professional wrestler. (http://www.accelerator3359.com/Wrestling/bios/sid.html)  Apparently there are two Sid Viciouses, and as far as I can tell the one that I was worried had died is still alive.

During the reading comprehension period, for some reason I thought I had 10 minutes left when I was starting my reading on my 3rd passage so I speed-read the whole thing, answered the questions as quickly as I could, and did the same with the next passage.  Then I realized I still had 5 minutes left and didn’t really have the time to reread the passages more closely and look at all the answer choices more thoroughly.  I really don’t know why I was mistaken about how much time I had left as I had written down the right end-time, but I did.  It’s frustrating because I’m trying to get a 175 or higher and the margin for error is really slim anyway if you’re not making stupid mental mistakes, but given that I very likely screwed up quite a few questions on half a section I’m highly unlikely to have gotten the score wanted.  I guess I’m going to cancel the test and take it again in June.  This isn’t really frustrating due to all the time I put into studying: that studying has me confident I’ll do very well when I take it again and it was actually fun (I really like playing the logic games) and kept me from filling my free time with mindless twoplustwo browsing or T.V. watching.  It’s just frustrating because I’ll have to take the LSAT again which is a giant pain in the ass: the test takes like 5 or 6 hours, you have to wake up early to take it, and you have to listen to proctors mindlessly and slowly reading very simple instructions that you already know, which is not something I want to experience again.

Sorry if this wasn’t that interesting, just had to vent about the disastrous test.  Immediately after the test, I loaded up all my stuff in my parents’ car that I was using, drove to the airport, moved all my stuff into a rental car, and drove up to D.C. (where I am now).  I’ve been awake since 7:00 a.m., spent 6 hours taking a standardized test that went poorly, and drove for 5 hours with no music to listen to.  I’ve seen better days.
